If you think the .30-30 Winchester and .30-06 Springfield have taken a good amount of game in the U.S., the .303 British and 8x57 Mauser will most definitely rival, if not beat, those numbers. Some people just want to get a reasonably priced rifle chambered in a 'common' cartridge, purchase inexpensive factory ammo for it then sight it in and hunt with it. If it does feed and a Krag's bore is loose enough for 303's larger bullets, it has unsafe pressure for Krags.
